This is an amazing property, immaculately cared for and provided with many guest friendly details. Great location, quiet and private yet convenient to both Oakhurst and Yosemite. Directions to property were very helpful since we came in after dark. Local contact, Colleen, very friendly and helpful. Cheaper than some motels in the area and with five times the amenities. Lots of good grocery stores and other supplies available 10 minutes away in Oakhurst. Loved Crab Cakes Restaurant and South Gate Brewing Company. Spent one day going to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks; long drive but worth the trip. Three days in Yosemite. Would definitely love to stay in this place again and just sit on the deck and relax.
We loved this house! It was practically brand new and had everything we needed for a great stay. It was quiet and the air conditioning worked great in the 100 degree heat. Far enough away from town for quiet, but close enough we didn't feel we had to travel a long distance to go in to town. The house came with a gift bag that included dish soap, garbage bags and other necessities that you sometimes forget when traveling. The owner and property manager were very responsive when called and were accommodating when we arrived in town earlier than the check-in time. All around wonderful experience!!
Great location, just a few minutes from the entrance to Yosemite National Park and to the nearby town. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood you will be greeted by a beautiful home with a long driveway. You might even see deer - we saw them twice! Three couple friends rented this home for a few days, it was a fantastic way to enjoy the great outdoors and retreat at the end of the day. The home has plenty of room, a nice welcoming living/dining/kitchen. Each bedroom is a comfortable size. They provide fresh towels and sheets. The kitchen is pretty well stocked with the usual necessities. Downstairs they have a great game room - stocked with a foosball table, ping pong table, etc. Colleen the coordinator was fantastic, she answered all my questions and gave us great suggestions on places to dine, explore, etc. I would highly recommend this property and stay again - perhaps it will be our annual family vacation!
We are a family of 5 from Florida. Our children are ages 15, 17, 21. We loved this home! Upon arrival it was apparent the home was very well kept! It was very clean and everything we could have needed was there for us! It was so welcoming to walk in to see the bottle of wine, glasses, crackers, and pepper jelly waiting for us! Such a nice touch! In addition the bag full of necessities such as paper towels, soaps, sponges etc. was such a help! We hiked everyday, then cooked dinner in the well equipped kitchen. We used the grill most nights which was so nice. We even saw deer from the deck as we were grilling. The beds were all so comfy! After dinner we were able to go downstairs to the game room for family games! Such a great stay! We would definitely recommend this home. As stated it does take about 15 minutes to the south entrance, then another almost hour on a twisty road to get to the Valley, but the home was well worth it! We would return to this home again! Thank you Jon!
The cabin is nestled in a perfect location to experience a memorable Yosemite family vacation. It's located about an hour drive from Fresno International Airport in Oakhurst, CA. All of the amenities you could want and need are provided including a fully equipped kitchen (stove/oven/microwave, full size refrigerator, dishwasher), a washer and dryer, a comfortable living room with fireplace/TV/DVD, 2 full bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with comfortable beds (I King, 2 Queens). We didn't need the heater, but the air conditioning worked great in the cabin! In addition, the game room offers a place for additional family fun (Ping-Pong table, Air Hockey, Foosball). Further, for those needing to stay connected WiFi is available. The outdoor deck serves as a great place to enjoy the deer in the morning and the sunset/stars in the evenings. The cabin is only a short drive (15 minutes) into town where there is good quality grocery stores and restaurants. We visited Bass Lake, Nelder Grove, Yosemite National Park (Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point, and Wawona) and still had time to enjoy the very clean and comfortable experience the cabin had to offer. As for the hospitality, the owner and property manager couldn't have been more helpful in providing instructions and guidance for our stay. In fact, they even provided a welcoming gift and some grocery essentials, which made us feel right at home. We loved the cabin and it helped make our family vacation a great experience. We will definitely recommend it to our friends and family!
Overall, the property was fine and met our needs. Nice location. Oakhurst has enough stores, shops and restaurants to meet your needs. Bass Lake close and nice. Easy drive to Mariposa which is a neat little town where we went ziplining. The 20 minutes to Yosemite is a little misleading. It about that to the south gate of Yosemite but if you are going to Yosemite valley which is where most people go, its like an hour to an hour and a half. Yosemite is big. There are 2 TVs. One in the main room and one in the master bedroom but only the one in the main room has satellite. You can only watch DVDs on the one in the bedroom. It would have been nice to have TVs in all bedrooms and all to have satellite. The game room was a disappointment. It could not be accessed from inside the house. You had to go down the outside stairs and walk around the house. There was no path and ground was wet. We had to walk through mud to get to it. In addition, the foosball table was set up improperly with the players in the wrong location. The back 2 rows are supposed to be for defense of that goal but the second line was the opposing team. It was unplayable.
For the price of a small room in a so-so nearby motel, we were able to stay comfortably in this very pleasant home, mid-May. The home is immaculate, comfortably furnished and nicely decorated. Good wi-fi is available, which was really important when we discovered that cell service in the area was a bit spotty. The owners provided us a nice bottle of wine and some crackers and a jar of homemade jalapeno jelly, which was a nice touch. You'll enter the home into an open-concept kitchen-dining and living room area. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you'd need to prepare meals, and there is a nice gas barbecue on the wrap-around deck. We actually never ate a meal at a restaurant while we were visiting the area, which saved us quite a bit of money. On our way down I-5 south, we shopped at a Costco and got all the food we needed for the week. The kitchen has upscale stainless steel appliances and a gas stove, all in perfect working order, and some spices and a few staples are also available in the cupboards. The bedrooms are generously sized with ample closet space, and all beds are extremely comfortable (this is coming from someone who swears by her precious Casper mattress). The home has two full bathrooms, one with a jetted tub, and an abundance of clean, white fluffy towels. A couple of deer stopped by the front yard the first morning we were there, curiously watching us curiously while we had our coffee and breakfast on the deck, which totally thrilled my mother. After a long day of hiking and exploring Yosemite, it was a pleasure to hang out on the deck and sip on a cool beverage while watching the sunset. The Yosemite south gate is only 15 minutes away, but beyond that, you're still looking at a 45-60 minute drive up a windy two-lane road to get to the good stuff, like the Tunnel View and the valley floor. The drive was not enough to convince me to sacrifice all the space and comfort and serenity of this excellent private home in order to stay at very pricey and low-value accommodations within the park. The seclusion and peacefulness of the property is just priceless, exactly the kind of relaxing and renewing vacation we needed, but at a fraction of the cost of a crowded hotel.
We arrived after dark so the explicit directions were much appreciated and thankfully the addresses are clearly signed at the driveways. The house was exactly as depicted in the pictures, clean, spacious and comfortable. On the kitchen island was a welcoming bottle of wine, some local jelly and crackers with cream cheese in the fridge - very classy. We turned on the gas fireplace which really puts out heat and provides a relaxing ambiance. Television and WiFi worked great so we didn't miss the Giants and were able to keep up on emails. Everything we needed to prepare our own meals was provided in the well-equipped kitchen, including a bag of kitchen supplies (foil, storage bags, dishwasher pods, sponge) as well as laundry detergent and a dryer sheet so we could wash our hiking clothes after our first day of hiking. The drive to the Valley floor wasn't any longer than we expected after doing our homework on Google before arriving, and the iconic waterfalls were really flowing- the reason we visited in April. The Wawona (now called Big Trees) area is very close, relatively speaking, and we hiked to Chilnualna Falls our second day. Whew what a hike, but it was so beautiful with the rushing cascades and panoramic views from the top. After our full days in the park it was great to return "home" to get cleaned up and relax. Ping pong in the game room was really fun, alas I am not the champion. The master bathroom bathtub was great for soaking our tired muscles. We found the beds comfortable so woke up refreshed. We would definitely recommend this home and would stay here again. When doing that last walkthrough to ensure we didn't forget anything, we neglected to look behind the front door which concealed a fleece jacket handing on the handy hooks. Upon contacting the property manager, she was extremely helpful and is sending the jacket back to us via mail. The owners were also very responsive via email and quickly answered all my pre-trip inquiries.
Excited to find that the place was very clean and looked just as nice as I saw in the pictures. The house is up on a hill surrounded by land and trees and you couldn't really see the neighboring houses. It felt so peaceful. There were even deer crossing the street right in front of the house. The game room was awesome with foosball, air hockey, ping pong, and other games. The bottle of wine was certainly a nice touch. They introduced us to a new favorite snack....,They left a jar of jalapeño jam along with some cream cheese in the fridge and a note to mix them together and eat with bread. Never thought to mix jam and cream cheese, but it was delicious! Colleen was super helpful and responsive by email, which made for a perfect stay. The balls for the foosball were missing and she ran out to buy some and dropped them off the next morning. She also helped with suggestions on where to go for us to buy a souvenir wooden carved bear. It seemed like a silly request but her response was great! She said "A carved bear would be a perfect souvenir!" and I thought to myself, "i think so too!" and laughed. I just really enjoyed my stay. I can't say enough good things about this place. Then of course we also came to see Yosemite which was amazing! But even the house alone would be a great getaway! It's a bit of a drive to Yosemite but the drive is beautiful so I didn't mind. I would highly recommend this place! Great family vacation!
We made a girls weekend out of the inaugural Yosemite Half Marathon and got lucky with booking this place for our stay. Our only complaint was going up and down the stairs the following day; our legs were a little beat up from the race, fortunately there is a handrail. This place is very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, a stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, and comfy beds. We were greeted by a couple welcome baskets and a bottle of wine. One basket had basic cleaning and kitchen supplies (aluminum foil, zip lock bags, dish detergent, etc.) and the other had various snacks, perfect for the flight home or hiking. We felt the location was perfect for the part of the park we wanted to explore and still a close drive into Oakhurst, which has a very nice grocery store (Raley's) and plenty of eating options. We spent most of our time exploring the park and would drive into Oakhurst for dinner (South Gate Brewing, Roman's Bar, and El Cid made our cut-all very good). If we ever make our way back to Yosemite, we all agreed we would keep this place in mind.
This is a great home. The owners thought of everything. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-stocked. There was a fantastic welcome basket waiting for us, which helped us start off our vacation. Many stores nearby. A great tire store in town helped us when we had a flat tire - the tire was fixed in 15 minutes and we were on our way.
Beautiful property located about 20 minutes away from the south entrance to Yosemite. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a bowl of treats. Kitchen was very well stocked - we had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds, great showers. Home is very well taken care of. Our kids loved the downstairs game room. We will be back!
We loved this house and felt very comfortable staying here. The house was very clean and well kept, the property was in a great central location, and the owners went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We were able to visit Yosemite, Bass Lake, and the Sierra Mountains easily from this location. The game room downstairs was a nice bonus! I especially loved laying on the porch at night looking at the stars. Perfect place to stay and relax while visiting Yosemite!
This house is beautiful, fresh and super clean. Appreciated the updated fixtures in the kitchen and bathrooms, and all the nice dishes and cooking utensils. We had dinner at "home" twice, and several breakfasts, which saved a ton of money. A nice TV and comfy set-up in the family room to enjoy movies and popcorn -- we watched the hysterical classic "The Great Outdoors", one of the DVDs provided, and rented a couple ($1.50!) from Redbox at Raley's. It's a short drive to the park gates, or to Bass Lake. Our favorite day was renting bikes at Curry Village and pedalling around the park, then lunch at the Ahwahnee hotel. The owner was fabulous answering a couple email questions before we arrived, and the local manager, Colleen, is a gem -- so nice and had great suggestions for things to do. Our only regret is not taking advantage of the amazing game room on the bottom level of the cabin; we ran out of time. Just means we'll have to book again next year!
Location! Location! Location! This is our second year in a row staying here. It’s so peaceful, no road noise, traffic or neighbors nearby. We spent a day in Yosemite, a day in Mariposa, and still had time to shop the antique stores in Oakhurst, even had time to stop by Bass Lake for the famous forks burger. Talk about centrally located to everything! It was nice being only 7 minutes from Oakhurst and not having the long travel for food, Gas and last minute necessities that we had forgotten. The owners had a guest coordinator who supplied all the information we needed before and during our trip. This was invaluable in helping us plan our trip and she was available any time to provide us helpful trip and local information. She offered information on local events the area has to offer and my wife and I look forward on staying again during the Madera wine trail weekend event that she suggested. The owners also extended the deck this year, which was perfect for our evening BBQ after a day of adventure. It not only made a spacious area for the whole family to relax and eat, but the views were incredible…Great addition! We will definitely be staying here again, and will probably start staying here more often, as it is perfect for a family weekend or romantic get-a-way, to enjoy a nice break and gain some stress releaf! It is definitely, “ home away from home”.
We escaped the hustle and bustle for a few a glorious days of fresh air and natural beauty. This vacation rental was perfectly suited for our Yosemite base camp as we explored a new National Park. We were fortunate enough arrive on the tail end of an early May cold front which left some snow behind, enhancing our instagram bonanza. Highly recommend a stroll through the sequoias in Mariposa Groves and cruise up to Glacier Point. You can grab a nice lunch at the Ahwahnee Hotel bar while soaking up some grand views. Thank you to the owners and managers who keep this house in such great shape. We’ll be back!
Awesome place! Great service and fast reply from the owner. They provided great information about the area and Yosemite trip! This is the first time that we decided to rent a vacation house vs staying in a hotel or lodge. It has all the kitchen stuff that you need. The place is so relaxing. The kids enjoyed the game room. Before we headed home we decided to hang out and relax at Bass lake.
This house was everything we had hoped for and more. The location was great, close to Oakhurst, Bass Lake, and not too much of a drive to Yosemite Valley. The house was beautiful, super clean, and had everything you would need in a vacation rental. The beds were large and comfortable. Bathrooms, spacious and lots of towels to use. Kitchen was fully equipped and even came with a nice welcome wine bottle and snack basket. The owners were very accommodating in setting up a crib and high chair for our son to use. Wifi and cable TV were convenient. Although we did not get to take advantage of the game room, it looked like it would be loads of fun for families with older children. The patio was beautiful and was a nice place to relax and BBQ. I would definitely rent this home again on our next trip to Yosemite. The rental coordinator greeted us as we arrived and was easily accessible if we needed anything during our stay. I highly recommend this home to anyone wishing for a relaxing and fun getaway!
My husband and I just vacationed at this beautiful home. Tucked up in the Oakhurst hills and surrounded by trees, it has a very peaceful and relaxing feeling. The home itself is new, clean and very cozy, it has all the conveniences of home and more. Eveything we need for our stay was provided for us, the kitchen is well stocked with nice glasses, plates, utencils etc. As well as toileties and towels in the bathrooms. We felt very comfortable and at home. We were even suprised by a nice bottle of wine, crackers and jelly the homeowners left us as welcome gift, as well as handouts to resturants and attractions in the area. The home is conveniently located close to Bass Lake and the South entrance to gorgeous Yosemite. We would come back to this home in a heartbeat, and would recommend it to friends and family. It was the perfect getaway! We didnt want to leave!
The owners know what they are doing here. Everything has a place and they have a place for everything. Everything from the owners assistance to the beds which are very comfortable, was fantastic. Location is perfect ,away from the hustle and close to all the places of interest. Even though we had a small situation to deal with, the owner had a good backup plan. Thx again owner!! No need to worry at this one. Highly recommend this place to stay.
The best stop on our CA tour. Beautiful, secluded location, but close enough to Oakhurst to pick up anything we needed -- including fresh beer at the local brewery. The entire family agreed that the beds were the most comfortable we've ever had away from home, and the couches were a close second. Very clean and updated. We really appreciated the gifts left in the kitchen and by the beds. We used the house as a base for 2 visits to Yosemite. It is a short drive to the entrance and a long drive to the valley (because its a huge park), but it's beautiful the entire way. We also went to Sequoia from the house, which is a longer drive but we enjoyed that park even more. The only negative is the lack of washer and drier -- we relied on Sierra Suds in Oakhurst for laundry. We had a wonderful time and certainly would stay here again.
Based on the pictures, it looked nice. But upon our arrival we found an oasis. Beautiful, clean, and the owners went above and beyond to make their home our home. The beds are sooo comfortable. Centrally located to town with really cool shops, near bass lake, and a beautiful drive to Yosemite. We will definitely be back to this rental and can see why this is a year round perfect vacation location. Beautiful kitchen with all the necessities. The BBQ pit was used the whole time while we enjoyed sitting on the wonderful wrap around deck. My kids really enjoyed the game room in the garage area. Thank you so much to the owners for the wonderful memories that we had and we will be back.
Must agree with the other five star reviews we have read on this location. By far the best vacation home we have stayed in. This is our second stay in the Yosemite Vacation Haus and we have just fallen in love with it. It is clean, located in a relaxing area, yet close to everything, and the amenities are unbelievable. This is definitely a location to stay and enjoy Yosemite from year around. It is a must for a fall, winter, or summer stay. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and trip to Yosemite. The owners were so helpful with planning our trip and providing information. You could tell that the owners were sincerely interested in making us comfortable and making our stay unforgettable. We will be back this next fall.
It was beautiful, the owners went above and beyond was we were expecting, leaving us wine and snacks and lots of water!!! The cabin was beautiful and they had redone the bedrooms so they were so much more beautiful than the pictures. We spent one day driveing around Oakhurst and visiting Bass Lake and the next visiting Yosemite, I would recommend this cabin to everyone, I have stayed in a lot of rental cabins but by far is one of the best!!!
One of the nicest vacation homes we have stayed in, was centrally located to everything. we enjoyed the easy drive to Yosemite National Park and Bass Lake recreation area during the day, then enjoying the views and sunsets from the balcony in the evenings. We appreciated how clean the house was and how we had everything we needed to cook and BBQ. It was located just off highway 222 and 41 which made it so convenient, but was located just of the highway enough to make it so peaceful and relaxing. We loved being surrounded by the beautiful cedar trees and Ponderosa pines. Bedrooms were spacious with nice large beds. The kitchen was spacious with newer appliances. Can't go wrong with a stay here! We will be recommending this place to all our friends and we will be back for years to come!
Amazing! This is 5 stars. Clean. Relaxing and well furnished. We were completely happy with this location and our stay. It was easy for us to travel to Yosemite and we were so close to Bass Lake. The owners we accommodating and so helpful in planning our trip. We will be staying here on our next trip. No need for us to shop around for a place anymore.
